Ze, The Manhole Kitty

Cat of the Day, Ze, was certainly a surprise addition to his adoptive owner’s life. Find out how Ze captured his owner’s heart!
Back in October (2013) my wife and I already had two pets: Julie (female poodle dog, 11 years old) and Chico (male Siamese cat, 8 years old) but she was insisting with me to have another cat in order to make Chico’s life happier but I wasn’t so OK with that idea.
However, something happened in a Tuesday night… I went to the tennis club and, after parking my car I passed by a manhole and heard some meow from inside of it. I tried to ignore it and walked a few more steps before looking back and seeing a small white head with a pair of shining blue eyes at the intake of the manhole. I came back to him but he has hidden himself again and it was impossible to reach him inside the manhole.
As I was late for my practice, I entered in the club and when I barely stepped in the court I noticed he has followed me into the club.
I had no choice than putting him into a balls box and taking him home. We named him Zé (zeh), a common nickname in Brazil for those who are called José).
After seven months he is a gorgeous off-white/beige 8 months old cat (he was about 2 months when I found him) and a great and funny partner for Chico.
Cheers from Brazil!
