Taping Begins for Hallmark Channel’s Kitten Bowl IIThe Animal Rescue Site
Nearly 90 furry felines participated in the first part of filming for the Hallmark Channel's second Kitten Bowl on Sept. 10. According to the New York Daily News, the kittens were from the North Shore Animal League America and Last Hope Animal Rescue facilities in Post Washington, New York, and Wantagh, New York, respectively.
Beth Stern played host to to Kitten Bowl II. The felines played on a field full of obstacles and toys cats love. Those who want to keep up-to-date on the kittens participating can follow the teams throughout the season.
Early taping in New York City will help the kittens find permanent homes. Crown Media Family Networks president and CEO Bill Abbott told the source that many of the kittens will already be adopted before the game airs this winter.
The first Kitten Bowl took place in 2013 and attracted 3.2 million viewers. Abbott said that Crown Media Family Networks noted the success that accompanied the Puppy Bowl hosted by Animal Planet and thought that giving cats their own day was a good idea.
Filming for the Kitten Bowl will continue at the end of September and also take place in November. The finished version of the Kitten Bowl II will air on Super Bowl Sunday, February 1.
