Dogs are great companions, at hogging the bed, sharing your food, and fetching. One loyal lab proved to be an expert at problem solving.

Kaylyn Marie was enjoying the day at her Orlando, Florida home when she got herself into a predicament. She went outside to enjoy the nice weather. As she closed the slider door, a wooden dowel fell into the track, causing the door to be jammed.

Immediately, Kaylyn tried to open the door, but to no avail. Her roommates were gone and would not return for hours. However, her loyal yellow lab named Sam came strolling to the slider.

A Snapchat video captured Sam diligently pawing at the wooden dowel. Kaylyn is heard encouraging the sweet pup. “Unlock it! Just pull the thing! Yeah just pull it,” she exclaims. “Good boy! Good boy you can do it!”

After a few failed tries, Sam decides to take a break. At this point, she turns the camera on herself to explain the situation, “I just need him to take the wooden rod and get it out of there because it slipped back down.”

Sam, being a loyal dog and knowing his mom needed help, returned to try and remove the dowel. Finally, he is successful and takes the dowel proudly in his mouth. Kaylyn quickly opens the door and thanks her helpful pup. Sam carries the dowel in his mouth like a prized trophy.
