Loois the dog may have been paralyzed in his two back legs, but that didn’t stop him from living his everyday life like a normal dog. His owner, Craig Mosher, was always by his side, helping him through it all.

Loois had a wheelchair to help him get around, but when it came to walks and hikes, Mosher came up with a clever way to help Loois maneuver around easier, while helping himself get in shape at the same time.

He developed a harness that fit around Loois and hoisted his back legs up. Mosher held them up as they walked. Instead of guiding Loois on their walks, he let Loois lead the way.

He event spent time each day doing physical therapy with Loois so that his back muscles would stay in shape and his blood circulation would continue to flow well.

Watching Mosher take care of Loois, you can tell how much he loved him.

“He was one of a kind and not ‘just a dog,’ but my best friend,” Mosher said of Loois on YouTube. Sadly, Loois passed away back in March of 2011 and Mosher misses him dearly, but he’s thankful for all of the wonderful years they shared together.

Mosher helped make Loois’ life an amazing one. Without him, Loois wouldn’t have gotten around with such ease. But Loois also helped make Mosher’s life better as well. He gave him purpose and showed him what true friendship is like.
