This Baby Hippo and Baby Rhino Are Helping Each Other Recover In The Most Beautiful Way

A baby rhino, named Makhosi, was brought to the Thula Thula Rhino Orphanage in KwaZulu-Natal at just two days old after being born premature. She was too small to reach her mom’s teat, so they had to step in to help in order for her to survive.

A hippo, named Charlie, who was abandoned by his family, was already at the orphanage. When he was rescued, he was so tiny and weak, they weren’t sure if he’d make it.

The baby rhino was not settling, so operation manager Karen Trendler decided to take the chance and see how Makhosi and Charlie would get along. Their bond was instant! They have become inseparable and their bond has blossomed into a beautiful friendship.

The company has definitely helped them both. Charlie began to gain weight and strength, as well has teeth. Makhosi is also doing well. The two continue to help each other heal. Watch how adorable they are together in the video below:
