Do you like bragging about your dog? Do you have the very best of reasons to do so – incredible stories, fabulous pictures, terrific tales of rescue? Then #DogThanking is for you!

It’s a quick, fun, and easy way to celebrate dogs and Thanksgiving, all while helping other pets who may not be as lucky as yours. You’ll get to share your best friend’s tale with the world, and read a lot of other fabulous stories into the bargain. You see, Purina is giving a dollar for every single person who hops onto Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram and shares why their dog is the best pet ever this Thanksgiving. Every penny will go to GreaterGood.org’s programs helping families and pets who were hit by major natural disasters this year. It’s simple, but seasonal – #DogThanking will last only through Sunday, November 26th. Here’s how you do it!

  1. Tell the world about your amazing dog by starting a post on Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram!
  2. In your post, be sure to tag Purina, and
  3. include the phrase #DogThanking.
  4. If you’re feeling fancy, add a photo of your dog!
  5. Share!

This year, hurricanes hit three major areas in the United States: Texas, Florida, and Puerto Rico. They devastated entire communities, pushing families – pets included – out of their homes and neighborhoods to seek shelter from the storms. When the storms died down, so many of these families returned to homes that had been utterly destroyed by violent winds and floodwaters. GreaterGood.org and The Animal Rescue Site were there to help when the storms hit, and we’re still there today, helping provide food and more in areas that haven’t yet recovered.

You’ll be joining some awesome people and seeing some great stories. Andy Cohen and his dog, Wacha, are helping out. Andy writes, “Wacha is my true companion and he is the best, especially when he falls asleep on my leg or gives me cuddles. We’re thrilled to join Purina’s #DogThanking initiative to help celebrate pets and how our lives are better together. I encourage pet owners to share their posts showing what makes their pet the best so we can raise funds for hurricane relief across the country.”

Will you be #DogThanking with us this year? After all, as dog people, we all have so much to be thankful for.
