Wildlife TV Show Visited By Larger Than Life Guest, With Perfect Timing

While filming on location with BBC Earth, there was a very good chance that they would not get to see a whale no matter how long they waited.

Whale watching can be daunting. In fact, the commentator was just saying this, when suddenly he gets totally upstaged by an eager TV guest…a huge whale!

The Blue Whale is the largest mammal on the planet, and their calls can be heard underwater from several miles away. They travel great distances in pods to find the best sources of krill, which makes up most of their diet.

Despite their massive size, spotting one of these creatures in the wild is truly a once-in-a-lifetime moment.

As the cast from Big Blue Live learns in this video, you can never be too prepared when looking for whales, and their persistence pays off!

Animals truly have a way to make us smile, and make an entrance. This whale is gorgeous!
