Let’s End The Black Homeless Cat Epidemic MEOW!Julie Hunt
The statistics are staggering and we can’t blame it all on superstition! There are just way too many black cats in shelters that desperately need homes. Go on any rescue site, walk into any shelter and you will see exactly what I am talking about. It’s ridiculous and unfair!
I have had black cats most of my life. None have been unlucky. None have casted a spell on me or did anything spooky. In fact, they’ve all been loving and devoted. My first black cat, Kole, was a rescue that I adopted in college. He came from a small litter of all black cats and I fell in love instantly… WITH ALL OF THEM! I would have adopted them all, truthfully, but I couldn’t have. I had room in my apartment for one cat and Kole was a gem from the start! He was playful and cuddly. And loved to meow!
Ask around, you will see that humans who have had black cats absolutely love them. We need to spread the word so more people understand that there is nothing unlucky about a black cat. We would be lucky to have them in our lives!
