This unique little creature, the Echidna, is native to Australia, Tasmania, and New Guinea. They have traits similar to many species: spines like a porcupine, a beak like a bird, and they lay eggs like a reptile. This tiny baby will grow to be between 4 and 10 pounds. Adults spend most of their lives in solitude.

The Taronga Zoo is a rescue organization and found this sweetie as an orphan. She is thriving because of their efforts. Yay! Another happy ending to a deserving animal!
